Easy Congee for Breakfast
Congee is always a good thing for breakfast in a Chinese household. To make the hassle-free congee, cook in a slow cooker at night and leave it for 7-8 hours. And you have a nice congee the next day.
Here's how to make:
1 cup rice
8 cups water
1 1/2 tbsp salt
1 tsp sesame oil
Wash the rice two times then put in a slow cooker. Add water salt and sesame oil. Just cook in the slow cooker for hours until the rice turns into porridge.
You can garnish the congee with some chopped spring onions, you tiao, century eggs, salted eggs, roasted peanuts and so on. I fried some wonton skin for the crunch. Drizzle some more sesame oil.
