Road Trip to Ipoh & Cameron Highland (Malaysia)

I'm going to share my Malaysia road trip and the food we ate along the way. Me and my family went to Cameron Highland from Petaling Jaya, passing through Ipoh. Here are the places we visited.

1. Ipoh: Eat Dim Sum

We went to 2 dim sum restaurants, both are just nearby. The first picture is Ming Court. The second one is Foh San. I prefer Foh San. Besides a more comfortable seating area, they also have a lot of dim sum variety.

2. Cameron Highland: Visit BOH Tea Plantation

Enjoy the nice tea plantation view with a cup of hot tea. So nice.

3. Cameron Highland: Visit S'Corner at Brinchang

Drink a fresh strawberry juice and check out some plants in the farm. I saw colourful mushrooms.

4. Cameron Highland: Check-in Hotel Copthorne

This is a cozy hotel to stay.

5. Cameron Highland: Eat Steamboat at Downtown Tanah Rata

Because of the cold weather, eating steamboat (hot pot) in Cameron Highland is a recommended thing to do. However, the restaurant that we went to (May Flower Restaurant), I find their food is not so fresh. It is quite disappointing.

Before heading back to Petaling Jaya, we went to the local market to buy some fresh vegetables and fruits to bring back. I also found a fried sweet potato fritters in the market.

8. Ipoh: Eat Bean Sprout Chicken Rice

There are a few popular bean sprout chicken rice restaurants in Ipoh. But the one that we went to is Lou Wong. It's not bad but not super fantastic.

The famous one is Aun Kheng Lim Salted Chicken, few streets away from the Lou Wong Bean Sprout Chicken Rice.

10. Ipoh: Visit Biscuit Shop

Buy some biscuits back such as the famous Ipoh Chicken Biscuits. I did not keep record of the shops I visited but there are many shops that sell biscuits in Ipoh, so just go in and have a look.
